New John Paul Jones Book From Gc Books

Pirate or Father of the American Navy, Dumfriesshire born John Paul Jones has always been a controversial historical figure. But a new book published by our sister company GC Books helps to shed light on his fascinating sailing career. The first in a series, this book draws on the articles of distinguished antiquarian writers who contributed to The Gallovidian. This popular periodical was, for many years in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the magazine to read in Dumfries and Galloway and beyond. Published quarterly it carried poems, profiles, stories and articles from the best writers of the region.

The John Paul Jones collection is the first of a series that will enable the modern reader to dip into these magazines.
